WBYC hosted our annual Laser Death Roll Regatta on Saturday, September 9th. Turn out was amazing with 18 sailors from around NY, PA, and NJ participating, and our WBYC Laser Fleet was in high attendance. Conditions were variable with a shifty 3-9 knot wind from the north that oscillated northeast for short periods, and pervasive clouds cause for streaky areas of pressure causing for some great inter-leg racing. Temperatures were brisk in the low 60s, but thankfully everyone stayed dry.
RC Carl Boller set a full slate of five races, allowing for one drop. After trading first and second place finishes all day, WBYC’s Ray Cudney beat out Peter Bushnell as the 2018 Laser Death Roll Champion! All other competitors sailed well, with a nice tight finishing window of under 10-minutes for the entire fleet. Congratulations to all for a day well had on the September waters of Cazenovia Lake.
